Mangalore is
located between the Arabian Sea and the Western Ghats and is considered to be
the 8th most clean city in India. The city has been an important one since the
rule of the ancient kingdoms likethe
Mauryas, Chalukyas and the Hoysalas etc. however the city saw its golden days
of prominence during the reign of Tipu Sultan and Hyder Ali. Mangalore was a
primary source of tension between Tipu Sultan and the British. The city is
famous for its amazing beaches and hills and the rich culture imbibed within
various temples and monuments of the old days

If we head towards the southern

the Mangalore city known as the light house hill garden of Mangalore.
It is one of the most fascinating
tourist spot of Mangalore. The foundation of this place is believed to be laid
in the 18th century by Haider Ali who was one of the renowned Indian emperors
of Indian history. This colossal legendary garden was built under his rule. So
apart from immense scenic beauty this place also holds remnants of history. Awesome scenes of sailing ships and
beautiful view of setting sun are the main attractions from this newly renovated
garden. The picturesque perfect scene of the moving boats in the background of
